Tokyo has explicit that two high-rise condominiums are going to be built at the remained site. Olympic village will become a city with 10,000 population and there will be 6000 sale lots or rental unit.

The real challenge begins at the end of the Olympic. How will we continue to use the expensive stadiums when the Olympic is over? Let's look over how the 1964 Tokyo Olympic facilities are use nowadays.



1. Kokuritsukyougijou:



Here at Kokuritsukyougijou, both opening and closing ceremony were conducted. Soccer, horsemanship, track and fields were played at Kokuritsukyogijiou as well. These days, Kokuritsukyougijou is leading a role of a stadium for nation-wide sports events in Japan.



Emperor's Cup for football, high school football championship, Tokyo International Marathon are some of the events held in Kokuritsykyougijou at present.



2. Komazawa Olympic Park Stadium:



This stadium is provided with 12 kinds of sport facilities, suitable for jogging, cycling, and dog-run.



3. Nippon Budokan:



Speaking of Nippon Budokan, recently it is recognize as ground for huge event at Tokyo rather than stadium for material arts. Since The Beatles's live in 1968, Nippon Budokan became central concert hall for popular musician from abroad.

Q3. Who will pay for the expensive facilities after the Olympic?



Expect for reserve fund which is 300.000,000,000 yen, the total expense will add up to 1 trillion 3 thousand 9 billion yen. Tokyo and organizing committee will absorb 600 billion each. Japan will absorb 150 billion.

Want to participate in Olympic? Tokyo Olympic is looking for your volunteer. There are wide variety of jobs which will be the backbone of Olympic. Volunteers can be divided in to two types: 1.Help with the running of the games. 2. Sightseeing guides. The recruitment will start in September 2018 and more than 90,000 people will be chosen. Document screening process and interview will be required for application.

The Tokyo Big Site will be use for the Media center during the Tokyo Olympic. The problem is period for using it. This media center will use for 20 months before the Olympic. Any exhibition will shut out including car products, any industrial and market. People who involved in these exhibitions and markets will lose job for 20month, the meaning is killing their company.

Q14. Will Japan offers substitute site during the Tokyo Big Site is unavailable?



The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that they will build a 23,000 square meter temporary exhibition center near Tokyo Big Sight.



However, JEXA Chairman Tadao Ishizumi said the temporary facilities would not be big enough, noting that the temporary exhibition center is only about a quarter of the size of Tokyo Big Sight

The lodger for Tokyo Olympics is estimated up to 260,000.



To calculate from data, 1,700,000 passenger compartments are needed. Of course, there will be fluctuations in number, but Japan must have prepare 100,000 for each day since Tokyo Olympics is held for 17days.

results of my survey

I got 12 answers to my survey, and the results are as below. _____________________________ Surprisingly, only a single person was not supporting Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics host city. Since most of the people who answered the survey lived in Tokyo and other neighboring prefectures, I predicted that less people support it because there has been many negative voices on the news. Instead, there are 4 people for "neither", and reasons for this, they commented that they "don't really care", or "will not have the advantages that claimed so enthusiastically during the bidding process", etc. This result was surprising too, because my prediction was that answers will concentrate  on "soaring budgets". Instead, the issue with the new National Stadium came in first. This could be because there was recent news that a man working at the site committed suicide from overwork. The next perspective is from a tourist from America. *Please note that all perspectives are imaginations based on true circumstances or events. -------------------------------------------------- I'm a tourist from America, and I'm planning to visit Japan again in 2020 to watch the Olympic games, and also go sight-seeing around Tokyo. From my first visit, I felt that Japan is a relatively safe country with various types of public transportation, so I'm not so concerned about my next trip, but I do have some things that I'd prefer it changed so that I can have the best experiences. One important suggestion; they should write the public signs in English, and NOT in Japanese in Roman Letters. For example, there is a station called Shinjuku-sanchoume. If you are not a Japanese speaker, you probably won't be able to understand what "sanchoume" means. So, I would like it if all of it is translated, like, "Shinjuku 3rd Street" so that it...
